Pronunciation key for scriptural Hebrew transliterations:
These are the pronunciations of ANCIENT Hebrew, CLASSICAL Hebrew, aka BIBLICAL Hebrew. They differ considerably from the pronunciations of MODERN “Hebrew” which was reanimated in the 17th century by Jews who did not care for accuracy as much as for unity of their tribe. So they incorporated all the errors in pronunciation being done by the European Ashkenazi Jews, errors which also have wrongly influenced the transliterations of the names of the Most High being made by those wrongly informed.
We use these symbols in our transliterations of proper nouns found within our translations FPS and EPP, to try to improve accuracy of pronunciation.
